Outdoor recreation has become increasingly popular now more than ever, as both a fitness and socially distant activity. If you're looking for ways to maintain your health and fitness goals, here are some local hiking trails for you to get your cardio in!
We've gathered a few of our favorite hiking spots within Los Angeles. Most of these hiking trails are easy to moderate, so it's not necessary for you to be an experienced hiker to enjoy them. Just make sure to bring plenty of water, use sunscreen, and stay on the trails!
Known for its view of the Pacific Ocean and wildflowers in the spring, this trail is overall easy and family-friendly. There's a small waterfall at the half-way mark at the top. Make sure to bring plenty of water and sunscreen, since it's mostly sunny with little shade.
If you're up for a bit of a challenge, try the Mesa Peak Trail in Corral Canyon, Malibu. It's about 6.5 miles round trip with both inclines and declines throughout. You'll get a summit-worthy views right from the start with pleasant ocean overlooks.
This 4-mile trial leads to a three-tiered waterfall at Escondido Canyon Park in Malibu. Most of the terrain is flat, with only a few steep areas. You'll come across a few creeks, and in the spring, wildflowers bloom along the trail.
